Abstract

The review of the two-volume collection of selected works by G.V. Drach is presented, which summarizes the results of almost 55 years of creative work of an outstanding Soviet and Russian scientist and philosopher, historian of philosophy and cultural critic, founder and engine of the Rostov Philosophical and Cultural School. The purpose of this text is to implement the idea that the history of Russian philosophy is created by our contemporaries, it is always personalized and requires an objective assessment of the work done "here and now", without waiting for the published works to settle in archival dust. This requires the use of not only a critical and analytical method, but also a biographical one, which allows us to identify the contexts and meanings of the concepts of living, real participants in the historical-philosophical and historical-scientific process.
