The authors consider the process of the formation of ideas about the dynamics of the formation of urban communities and state, despite the seemingly large number of approaches to the concept of "urban community", at the moment there is a lack of rational and theoretical understanding of urban communities, the absence of a generally accepted conceptual representation of the urban community, the isolation of this concept from theories of subcultures and subcultural communities.
