The interdependence of the moral imperative and the human individual in the context of Christian philosophy is revealed. Through the analysis of antinomic features of the philosophical and theological heritage of Metropolitan Plato (Levshin), a significant layer of anthropological research of the XVIII–XIX centuries is revealed. It is concluded that the philosophical and theological tradition of the perception of the "inner and outer cross" in the Christian worldview, established by Metropolitan Platon (Levshin), opens up the principles of the moral life of the individual and the way of its spiritual transformation.
