The history of the Gigs ring serves as a paradigm example of the instrumentalization of violence in the European philosophical tradition. Understanding violence in terms of end and means reveals and problematizes the understanding of violence as a tool, since the threat to the legal order comes not only from the private goals of a person, but also from violence itself, which is not a “simple” tool and can potentially break the link between goal and means in mythological or divine violence. Absorption by violence of the state and legal order can lead both to the interruption of instrumental violence and to the strengthening of this instrumentalization. With regard to the first, it can be concluded that terrorism as a phenomenon is associated with the mimetic "work" of violence as a manifestation, as well as a tool implemented on the periphery of established public institutions in the face of failure of state structures and the crisis of traditional ways of organizing life.
