Ornament: The Dynamics of Cultural and Historical Forms and Concepts

The study aims to trace how ornament as an artistic phenomenon and a semiotic element changed over time in the context of culture and art. The personalized context of the transformation in the content of ornament essence of the ornament is presented, as well as the correlation of the identified reference points with the proposition of ornament modifications in its cultural and historical discourse. The article also features the author's semiological concept of creating a system of universal ornamental elements integrated into the alphabet of ornamental semantic forms. The analysis suggests the possibility of creating a universal language based on the main elements of ornament, the role of which is to optimize the process of retransmitting the cultural heritage and, consequently, improve the society 's life quality. Expectations of actualizing the meaning of ornament and consolidating the experience of transmitting cultural heritage through the alphabet of ornament are based on the process of ornament change stabilization.
