The Social Experiment: From De Lege Ferenda to De Lege Lata

Modern science presents many disciplines that in one way or another turn to experimentation in practical activities. But the concept of «experiment» in different fields of knowledge hides diverse content. We can talk about the variability of experimental practices without a common methodology for conducting, since a modern experiment differs significantly from the classic example of a natural science experiment. In the philosophy of science and the theory of state and law, there are common research topics related to the method, therefore, within the framework of interdisciplinary research, issues are considered regarding the possibility of using precise methods in law, in particular, experiment. It is concluded that in law, an experiment is presented as a «regulatory sandbox», which allows for an experimental verification of the effect of other legal norms in a certain territory or in a digital environment. A more effective study of regulatory sandboxes is possible in cooperation with representatives of Russian economic science.
