Despite extensive research on utopia as a literary phenomenon, its transformation from a philosophical dialogue into a tool of socio-political criticism remains under- researched. The aim of the study is to identify patterns in the genre evolution and its impact on societal discourses. The results demonstrate that utopia evolved from static models of an ideal society to dynamic projects that combine critique of reality with technological and ecological utopianism. The study contribution lies in systematizing the stages of the genre development and demonstrating its role as a catalyst for social change.
