The article is devoted to the review of the reports of the participants of the III International Scientific and Practical Conference "Energy Law: models and trends of development", held on October 8-9, 2021 at the Belgorod State National Research University. The following topical issues of energy law development were discussed at the conference: is energy law a branch of law or a branch of legislation; what legal relations are the subject of energy law; improvement of energy legislation; implementation of digital transformation in the energy industry; what is the legal nature of energy; problems of responsibility in the energy sector; principles of energy law, problems of energy risk insurance, etc.
