Abstract

The Acts of the Apostles reflects the conflict between Christian norms and secular law. Based on a textual analysis, the study reveals the relationship between the instructions of the Acts and the legal regulations of the state. It is shown that the Acts contains rules of conduct for Christians in situations of conflict between divine and earthly laws, and defines the role of the state in administering justice.
