The main purpose of the research is to describe the main philosophical ideas of Paul Yorck von Wartenburg with a special emphasis on his concept of time and the historical conditionality of human temporal experience, stressing the relevance of his approach at the present time. It is shown how the thinker combined the tradition of German classical philosophy with anthropological, phenomenological and hermeneutic approaches, asserting the inseparable connection of personal, anthropological and collective experience in the temporal "stream of life". The analysis demonstrates that the ideas of Paul Wartenburg influenced the further development of hermeneutics, philosophy of history and modern studies of time.
