Abstract

The question of the concept, essence, meaning and ontological features of the process in Church's canon law is one of the least studied. It acquires special significance in the context of discussing the ongoing legal wars in the church space. Based on the well-known definitions and concepts of Church canon law and the general definition of the process, the author leads the reader to an understanding of the essence of the process in Church canon law. The paper shows that church canonical law has its own process, ontologically inherent in it – the church canonical legal process, is implemented in the process, is connected with the process. The instructions of the provisions of the Charter and other acts of the Russian Orthodox Church on canonical procedures are presented, as well as relevant samples of positions from the classical scientific thought of church canon law. The author's concept of describing and explaining the key directions implemented and integrated within the framework of the Church canonical legal process, in accordance with Church canon law, is presented. It is concluded that the Church canonical legal process is an integral element of church life and church governance, framing them within the framework of what is permitted and prescribed by Church canonical law.
