The Doctrine of Pan-Slavism in the Political and Legal Doctrine of N.Y. Danilevsky

Abstract

December 2022 marks the 200th anniversary of the birth of the thinker, geopolitician, publicist N.Y. Danilevsky, who was the founder of the internationally recognized doctrine of cultural and historical types and the theorist of the concept of the multipolarity of the world. The problems of Slavic integration and the special position of Russia in the Slavic world in the context of global challenges are becoming particularly relevant and important, so it seems logical to turn to the analysis of individual components of the doctrine of pan-Slavism in the political and legal doctrine of N.Y. Danilevsky. It is emphasized that the concept of N.Y. Danilevsky includes the justification of the state sovereignty of the Slavic peoples, the revival of their cultural identity, the foreign policy strengthening of the influence of the Slavic world while ensuring the preservation of world balance. As a result of the conducted research, the program thesis of N.Y. Danilevsky's teaching was established and analyzed: the All-Slavic Union should become a civilizational political and legal system and a pole of power capable of competing with the Germanic-Roman civilization.
