Conservative Sociality in P. Kulish’s Philosophy

The article discusses the concept of conservative social existence of Panteleimon Alexandrovich Kulish (1819-1897), based on the existential type of thinking. This allowed him to develop a fruitful critique of modern society in the context of historical constants of human existence. It is shown that P. Kulish introduces a special criterion for human development, which is fundamentally different from the usual “progressive – backward” scale. This is a criterion of human authenticity and integrity - against the state of alienation and depravity of man, which inevitably arise in the “urban” civilization. The reflections of P.A. Kulish have heuristics for modern philosophy and research of the deep traits of the national character, and also show the process of spontaneous emergence of existentialism in the realities of the twentieth century.
